1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Locus("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. Locus is operated by iSlayer Consultancy Ltd (BRN C26231244), a company registered in Mauritius.
2. The Platform
Locusis a software platform that helps property owners and managers ("Landlords") manage their own properties in Mauritius, including tenancies, rent, documents, and maintenance. Where the Platform helps Landlords engage service providers ("Providers"), we facilitate introductions and communications but are not a party to, and do not broker, the service agreements between Landlords and Providers.
3. User Accounts
- • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- • You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
- • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- • You must not create multiple accounts or share your account with others.
- • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Landlord Responsibilities
- • Provide accurate property information and service request details.
- • Ensure safe access to properties for service providers.
- • Pay for services as agreed through accepted quotes.
- • Submit honest and fair reviews of completed work.
- • Respond to messages and service updates in a timely manner.
5. Provider Responsibilities
- • Provide accurate information about qualifications, experience, and certifications.
- • Only accept jobs that are within your skillset and service area.
- • Complete accepted jobs to a professional standard and within agreed timeframes.
- • Submit accurate quotes and only charge the agreed amount (or provide clear justification for adjustments).
- • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage for your trade.
- • Comply with all applicable Mauritian regulations for your trade or profession.
6. Verification and Trust
Providers may undergo identity and qualification verification. Verification badges indicate that we have checked the submitted documents, but do not constitute a guarantee of work quality. Landlords should exercise their own judgement when selecting providers, considering ratings, reviews, and verification status.
7. Payments and Fees
- • Payments for services are processed through the Platform or arranged directly between parties.
- • Locus charges a platform commission on completed jobs, deducted from the provider's payout.
- • All prices are in Mauritian Rupees (MUR) unless otherwise stated.
- • Subscription plans, where applicable, are billed according to the selected plan terms.
- • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis through our dispute resolution process.
8. Reviews and Ratings
- • Reviews must be honest, fair, and based on genuine service experiences.
- • Reviews may not contain defamatory, discriminatory, or abusive content.
- • We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these terms.
- • Providers may respond to reviews publicly.
9. Disputes
If a dispute arises between a Landlord and a Provider regarding quality of work, pricing, or other service-related matters:
- 1. Users should first attempt to resolve the issue directly through our messaging system.
- 2. If direct resolution fails, either party may file a dispute through the Platform.
- 3. Our team will review the dispute and may mediate between parties.
- 4. For disputes that cannot be resolved through the Platform, Mauritian law and courts shall apply.
10. Limitation of Liability
Locus is a platform that connects users. We are not responsible for:
- • The quality, safety, or legality of services provided by Providers.
- • Property damage arising from work performed by Providers.
- • Disputes between Landlords and Providers.
- • Loss of income or business resulting from Platform downtime.
Our total liability to any user shall not exceed the amount of fees paid by that user to Locusin the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Prohibited Conduct
- • Providing false or misleading information.
- • Circumventing the Platform to avoid fees (e.g., arranging jobs off-platform after connecting through Locus).
- • Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour towards other users.
- • Attempting to manipulate ratings or reviews.
- • Using the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
12. Account Termination
You may close your account at any time through your account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your data is handled according to our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Mauritius. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mauritius.
